ShiftTrack (“ShiftTrack”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operated by [your legal name or registered company], helps you track your jobs, shifts, and earnings and check whether your paychecks are right. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using ShiftTrack, you agree to this policy.
1. Information you give us
- Account details — your email address and a securely hashed password (or the details from a sign-in provider, if you use one).
- Content you enter — the jobs, pay rates, shifts, tips, overtime, and paycheck figures you record. You type this in yourself; we don’t pull it from anywhere.
- Payment details — if you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor handles your card. We receive a confirmation and billing record, never your full card number.
- Guest data — if you try ShiftTrack without an account, the jobs and shifts you enter are saved in a temporary guest session and merged into your account if you sign up.
2. Information we collect automatically
- Usage & device data — actions you take in the app, browser and device type, and approximate region, to keep the service working and to improve it.
- Cookies & local storage — to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as your light/dark theme. We don’t use advertising trackers.
3. What we never do
- We never ask for your bank login or connect to your bank.
- We never ask for access to your employer or payroll system.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your jobs, shifts, or pay with other users or advertisers.
4. How we use your information
- To run the service — store your jobs and shifts and calculate your earnings and paycheck checks.
- To keep your account secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To provide support when you contact us.
- To improve ShiftTrack and understand which features help.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
5. How we store and protect it
Your data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and access is limited to what’s needed to run the service. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable, industry-standard measures.
6. Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run ShiftTrack. They only receive what they need to do their job for us, are bound to keep it confidential, and may not use your information for their own purposes:
- Cloud hosting & database — stores your account and the data you enter.
- Stripe — processes payments and manages subscriptions; handles your card details so we never see them.
- Resend — sends account emails such as password resets.
- Umami — privacy-respecting, cookieless usage analytics.
- Google & Microsoft — only if you choose to sign in with them, to verify your identity.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we delete it (or anonymize it) within a reasonable period, except where we’re required to keep certain records for legal or accounting reasons.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access & export — view your data in the app, and export your shifts and pay as CSV or PDF on the Pro plan.
- Correct — edit any job, shift, or paycheck at any time.
- Delete — delete individual records or your whole account.
To make any of these requests, email support@shifttrack.app from your account email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws:
- California (CCPA/CPRA) — the right to know, access, correct, and delete your information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information.
- UK & EU (UK/EU GDPR) — the rights above, plus the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data-protection authority. We process your data to provide the service (our contract with you), for our legitimate interest in securing and improving it, and to meet legal obligations.
- Canada & Australia — rights of access and correction; contact us with any privacy concern.
9. Children
ShiftTrack is not intended for anyone under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
10. Where your data is processed
ShiftTrack is operated from the United States, and your information may be stored and processed there. By using the service, you understand that your data may be processed in a country with different data-protection laws than your own.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above, and we’ll let you know about material changes.
